2023 GMC Yukon
Finding a vehicle that can carry a large crew while delivering high-end features can be a challenge, but the GMC Yukon delivers in all areas. Check out this capable and luxurious SUV.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2023 GMC Yukon is a three-row SUV sold in five trim levels. They are SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. With the base model, standard exterior features include LED headlights, proximity keyless entry with keyless ignition, and 18-inch wheels. The XLT adds hands-free functionality for the liftgate and larger 20-inch wheels.
If you plan to take your SUV off the beaten path, the AT4 will be the best option for that. It has adaptive suspension dampers, front tow hooks, hill descent control, and an upgraded front fascia that enhances the approach angle. An air-controlled suspension system and electronic limited-slip differential are available as options. The top Denali Ultimate trim includes power side steps, a panoramic sunroof, and 22-inch wheels.
Engine (Power)
The lower three trim levels come equipped with a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The AT4 trim is available with an upgraded 6.2-liter V-8 engine that pumps out 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. With the upper two trims, this engine comes standard. You can also opt for a third engine option offered on the SLE, SLT, Denali, and Denali Ultimate trims. It's a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6 unit rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. No matter which engine you choose, your Yukon will come with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
All but the AT4 trim include rear-wheel drive, although you can upgrade the other four trims to include four-wheel drive. Since the AT4 is designed for off-roading, it comes with GMC's four-wheel-drive system as standard. GMC also offers a Max Trailering package, which bundles a two-speed active transfer case, a heavy-duty cooling system, and a trailer brake controller. If you plan to tow, that's a worthwhile upgrade, along with the trailering camera system.
Interior
The spacious cabin of the 2023 Yukon can seat up to nine passengers, depending on the configuration. GMC also offers a longer version, the Yukon XL, further increasing the interior size. Choose the base model to get cloth upholstery and a 10.2-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration. The SLT tacks on leather-appointed upholstery, an upgraded Bose sound system, heated and ventilated front seats, and wireless device charging. A few options are available, such as a heated steering wheel, power-folding third-row seats, and heated second-row outboard seats. The AT4 has most of those options as standard features, plus driver's seat memory settings. With the Denali, you get a further upgraded 14-speaker Bose sound system, while larger wheels are available as options. The top Denali Ultimate trim has massaging front seats, premium leather upholstery, and upgraded trim.
Safety Features
All 2023 GMC Yukon models come with lane-keeping assist and forward-collision mitigation. Options on the base trim include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are standard on the higher trims. You can also get options like a head-up display, a surround-view camera system, and adaptive cruise control.
