2023 GMC Acadia
A three-row easy-to-drive SUV that has a spacious interior for up to seven travelers, the 2023 GMC Acadia comes in several styles, so you can find a configuration that meets your needs. This midsize SUV has two capable engine options and an extensive list of standard and available driver-assistance features. Since it's more upscale than some of its rivals at a fraction of the cost, the 2023 Acadia is worth taking for a drive.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
When shopping for the 2023 GMC Acadia, you have four trims to choose from: the SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. If you're wanting a sportier option, opt for the bulked-up AT4 since it's best suited for off-roading. The upper trims have an available hands-free power liftgate. You can choose from a number of exterior paint colors, including Sterling Metallic, Ultra Blue Metallic, and Volcanic Red Tintcoat.
Engine (Power)
You'll find one of two engine options under the hood of the 2023 GMC Acadia. The lower two trims use the 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The alternative 3.6-liter V-6 engine generates 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, and it's standard on the upper two trims and available on the SLT trim. Both engines pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The AT4 is the only trim that comes standard with all-wheel drive, while the other three come with front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as an available option.
Performance
The 2023 GMC Acadia achieves above-average gas mileage compared to other midsize SUVs. With the base engine along with front-wheel drive, the SUV gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. Models with all-wheel drive achieve slightly lower numbers, at 22 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Those with the V-6 engine and front-wheel drive get 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, while all-wheel-drive models get 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The SUV can tow up to 4,000 pounds.
Interior
Moving up trims in the 2023 GMC Acadia, you'll notice numerous amenities, such as heated front seats and leather upholstery. Cargo space maxes out at 79 cubic feet of space when you fold down the second and third rows of seats. One of the most noteworthy interior features of the SUV is its infotainment system. It includes an 8-inch touchscreen display, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, USB ports, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Additional features are available as well, including wireless smartphone charging and navigation.
Safety Features
GMC knows how important safety is, which is why the automaker outfitted every 2023 Acadia with a dozen standard safety features. Some of these key features include forward automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, pedestrian detection, and automatic high-beam headlights. It also includes the Teen Driver system, which provides audio and speed limits for secondary drivers. Upper trims offer additional safety features, such as a surround-view parking camera system, adaptive cruise control, and head-up display. Thanks in part to these numerous safety features, the SUV achieved a perfect overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
