2023 GMC Canyon

The 2023 GMC Canyon is available in four trim levels: the base Elevation, the AT4, the Denali, and the AT4X. The redesigned Canyon features an aggressive, beefy look with muscular styling and increased ground clearance as well as a wider wheelbase than the prior model. You'll also enjoy full LED lighting in the headlamps, daytime running lights, and available fog lamps, and a first-in-class MultiStow Tailgate. The AT4X is a new trim level that adds even more lift and a range of off-road-oriented features and touches.

The newest Canyon drops the engine lineup from prior years and replaces the former choices with a single powertrain: a turbocharged inline four-cylinder at 2.7 liters. This high-output engine kicks out 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. These numbers represent a best-in-class standard gas engine torque rating, so you can be sure you're getting all the power you need from the GMC Canyon's engine. It's ideal for off-road-focused adventures traversing rolling terrain and crawling over rocks.

The Canyon also offers a best-in-class maximum available towing capacity of 7,700 pounds when properly equipped. The Elevation, AT4, and Denali models can be equipped with the available ProGrade Trailering System to achieve this rating. With its off-road-oriented features, the AT4X can tow up to 6,000 pounds. The AT4X also gets exclusive Multimatic DSSV dampers and front and rear e-lockers to keep traction stable in rugged terrain. This is a truck that can overcome the toughest obstacles and ford up to 10.7 inches of water or high ground. Taking advantage of that capability is easy as well, thanks to the Trailering App which includes trailer light sequence test and diagnostics, custom profiles, and pre-departure checklists.

Even as it refocuses on off-road performance, GMC never forgets luxury touches. The Canyon's cabin offers premium materials and soft-touch surfaces, with base features like dual-zone automatic climate control. Available upgrades include a premium Bose sound system, heated and ventilated seats, leather upholstery and surfaces, wood trim, and power-adjustable seats with power lumbar support. The Canyon's infotainment system is driven by a huge central touchscreen featuring wireless compatibility for Apple and Android smartphone integration and access to the Google Play store to download all of your favorite apps, along with an available integrated Wi-Fi hotspot.

Canyon Pro Safety is your suite of advanced intelligent driver aid and collision avoidance technologies. You'll get lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, forward collision alert and tailgating alert, a following distance indicator that displays gap time in seconds from the vehicle in front of you, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian braking, and IntelliBeam automatic high beams. Opt for the Safety Plus Package, and you'll add features like rear cross-traffic braking, blind-spot steering assist, and rear parking assist.
