2025 Terrain Basics and New Features

The new generation of the Terrain kicks off with a single trim level, Elevation, which comes well-equipped with standard features. For a more powerful statement with exclusive details and badging, the signature Elevation Black Edition is also available. There’s a new headlight design inspired by the Yukon SUVs, and the standard silver painted aluminum wheels from the previous year are replaced by a Grazen Metallic machine-face design. Inside, there’s a new standard infotainment screen and an 11-inch digital gauge display.

Turbocharged Power

The 2025 Terrain is offered exclusively with a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that produces 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque when combined with front-wheel drive and the standard continuously variable transmission. All-wheel drive is available, which ups the maximum torque to 203 lb-ft, pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and increases the max trailering capacity from 800 lbs to 1,500 lbs. Both drivetrains offer Normal and Snow drive modes, but the all-wheel drive system adds AWD and Off-Road modes.

Upgraded Infotainment Tech

The new infotainment screen inside the latest Terrain is a massive 15-inch multitouch display with natural voice recognition and wireless integration for compatible smartphones via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are personalized profiles for each driver, and Google built-in is available.

Interior Comfort

Both front bucket seats and the steering wheel come with standard heat functions to make winter days more bearable. Manual adjustments for both front seats are standard but can be upgraded to eight-way power-adjustable seats with lumbar. The 60/40-folding rear seats offer maximum versatility by keeping rear occupants comfy and easily folding when you need extra cargo space. Single-zone climate control automatically maintains your selected temperature, and a dual-zone system is available.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Adaptive cruise control is standard on the Terrain to enhance convenience and make long drives less exhausting. The HD rear vision camera helps you park, and for the first time, an adjustable rear camera mirror is available to provide a less obstructed view behind your vehicle as you drive. Other standard driver assistance and safety features include Blind Zone Steering Assist, Forward Collision Alert, and more.
